Thought I was gonna hate this, really wasn’t looking forward to it, but it surprised me, by having a decent story, good performances and passionate direction from king of modern studio schlock Joe Johnston. 

Don’t get me wrong, it’s no Dark Knight or Iron Man but it’s fun and entertaining and a much better pre supermovie warm up than Thor was. Nice looking, Hugo Weaving chews scenery superbly, Tommy Lee Jones grumbles and mumbles and Chris Evan is the suspiciously waxy all American hero. Seriously. He is smooth and shiny like an action man doll. It’s eerie. 

I’ll probably forget it in a week, or at least until The Avengers comes out, but it was fun while it lasted.
