My Thoughts On…It’s A Wonderful Life
Has there ever been anyone better than James Stewart? In the history of movies? I struggle to name a better star than he. He is us on the screen. Us with grace, and humility. Humanity.
This is a good movie, a good story, but with him in the role of George Bailey it has rightly been elevated to exalted status. He is impeccable, perfect, magnificent.
There were tears, as always. First time I’ve watched it in a group, with 4 people who have never seen it, and all were flowing by the time the bell rings and auld lang syne swells. And it’s because of Jimmy. He is handsome, and funny, and caring, and broken. Strong and weak and brilliant. Unflinchingly unselfish. Remarkable.
A story anyone can relate to and all should aspire to. In these times above all.
As we wait for stars and real people like Jimmy/George to show us the truth of this short stint we call life.
Tell those who make your life better how you value them. Now. And not because it’s Christmas.

Look at him!
